Emma Butchard and Brasil Claim 1.35m TackNRider Jumper Stake at Rita & Irish Flynn Memorial to Conclude ESP Summer Series

Wellington, FL – October 3, 2017 – Emma Butchard of Wellington, FL, and her own Brasil finished atop the 1.35m TackNRider Jumper Stake at the Rita & Irish Flynn Memorial at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), the final competition of the 2017 ESP Summer Series. The ESP Fall Series begins next week on Friday, October 13, and will continue through Sunday, November 19.

Butchard and Brasil finished the jump-off track in 45.901 seconds to secure the win ahead of Alexa Rodriguez of Miami, FL, and her own Consil, who finished in second place with a jump-off time of 45.671 seconds, adding four faults to their score. Andres Soto of West Palm Beach, FL, and Lorenza Jmen, owned by Julia Tedesco, rounded out the top three after dropping a rail and crossing through the jump-off timers in 47.267 seconds.

Cynthia Screnci of Boca Raton, FL, and Vichy, owned by Volado Farms, rode to first place in the Low Child/Adult Jumper Classic after finishing the jump-off in 37.511 seconds. Mateo Coles of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and V.I.P, owned by Alessia Cabrini, earned second place after stopping the timers in 40.211. Madeline Lezotte of Wellington, FL, and her own SPR Penelope completed the track with the fastest jump-off time in 32.024 seconds, but added four faults to ultimately finish in third.

Mia Albelo of Coconut Grove, FL, and her own Cassandra Dreams rode to victory in the Marshall & Sterling Child/Adult Jumper Classic after stopping the jump-own off timers in 35.151 seconds. Ansley Wright of Manalapan, FL, and her own Coriano Van Vet Hermitage took second place with a time of 35.461 seconds and four faults, while Alex Jimenez of Miami, FL, and Caletta Z, took third place with after dropping a rail for four faults and stopping the timers in 40.251 seconds.

Alfredo Gonzalez is presented with the Rita Flynn Memorial Trophy by Karen Flynn at the Rita & Irish Flynn Memorial at PBIEC.

The Low Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic saw Robyn Hannigan of Celebration, FL, and her own Copacabana take first place with a jump-off time of 28.792 seconds, while Nathalie Mathers of Wellington, FL, and her own Quirrado finished in second place with a time of 31.757 seconds. Paige Coles of Boca Raton, FL, and her own Springfield Hill rounded out the top three with a time of 32.788 seconds.

Emma Arnhols of Coral Gables, FL and her own Colorful Scenario captured the divisional championship in the Children’s Pony Hunter Division, while Hannah Glanzberg of West Palm Beach, FL, and her own Silvershine finished with reserve honors.

Reily Malt of Jupiter, FL, and Moon Pie, owned by Palm Beach Riding Academy, finished atop the Modified Hunter Division. Rebecca Eigen of Boca Raton, FL, and Eye of the Tiger, owned by Far Niente Equine LLC, captured reserve champion.

The USHJA Hunter 2′, 2’3″, 2’6″ Division saw Ellen Raidt of Wellington, FL, and Cool Colony owned by Caitlin Flynn take top honors ahead of Diego Muyshondt of South West Ranches, FL, and Gazelle VH Gehucht, owned by Annette Friend, who secured reserve champion.

The Rita Flynn Memorial Trophy is awarded to the trainer who best exemplifies Rita Flynn by being courteous and prompt. The recipient consistently sets an example by having their clients to the ring and prepared in a timely manner, whereby helping to keep the show running smoothly. This year’s Rita Flynn Memorial Trophy was presented to Alfredo Gonzalez by Karen Flynn.
